Part of the AY motto states its purpose is to “…improve myself and the community in which I live” and this week they are certainly demonstrating this. The AY executive felt the need to help the victims of Tyhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. They decided to ask students to bring in different denominations of money each day; nickels on Tuesday, dimes on Wednesday, quarters on Thursday and loonies/toonies on Friday. The students are very receptive to this fundraiser thus far and all are encouraged to help fill our jar which is set up in the lobby.
Christmas shoeboxes have arrived at the school. If you would like one, please have your child bring one home or feel free to stop by and pick one up. Boxes must be returned to the school by Friday Nov 15th, in order for them to reach their destination before Christmas. For more information please visit Operation Christmas Child.
